Resources from Pierce County Library System
Check it out @ http://www.piercecountylibrary.org/services/tools-tough-economic/. We’ve added books and other resources in our branches for resume building, gardening, do-it-yourself projects, etc. We are also offering more computer classes, increased time on computers, and economic-related programs. In addition, we are buying more family DVDs to respond to families who are turning to us more and more for free entertainment, too.

Following is an updated on how Pierce County Library System is helping people during today’s economic downturn. We are offering resources to help people:

Create resumes.

Find clothing, food, housing, transportation.

·         File for unemployment.

·         Locate utilities assistance.

·         Improve computer skills.

·         Live on less.

·         Locate home loan help.

·         Save money.

·         Search for jobs.

We recently created a new Web page, Tools for Tough Economic Times, that shows the Library’s assistance as well as help from other local organizations to help people find jobs and economic assistance. Check it out @ http://www.piercecountylibrary.org/services/tools-tough-economic/. We’ve added books and other resources in our branches for resume building, gardening, do-it-yourself projects, etc. We are also offering more computer classes, increased time on computers, and economic-related programs. Please share this info via your Web site or other means Washington State Library is using to discuss how libraries are helping. We previously provided our stats that showed dramatic increase in use. Those are also listed on the Tools for Tough Economic Times Web page. Please let me know if you have questions. Thank you.
